Assistive Technology Consultation and Training

Renee Seykora holds a Degree from the University of Connecticut. She is a trained and certified in assistive technology. In addition to her decade in public education Ms. Seykora has been in an educational consultant since 2006. She is well versed in the Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative (WAIT), Georgia Project for Assistive Technology (GPAT), and the SETT Framework. She is also knowledgeable regarding Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, writing and spelling and in Lindamood-Bell’s Phonemic Sequencing® (LiPS) Program. She is skilled at weaving together the right combination of diagnostic teaching approaches needed for a child who is struggling. She has expertise knowledge in the training, implementation, use, development, and programming of low– and high-tech assistive technology.

Ms. Seykora is expert at utilizing assistive technology and on the uses of speech-recognition software with students with disabilities as well as Kruzweil 3000, SMART Board Interactive Whiteboards, Dragon Naturally Speaking, LiveScribe pen, Interact-AS, Boardmaker, Clicker 5, Dolphin SuperNova, and Inspiration. Ms. Seykora regularly attends IEP meetings to represent students’ interests and help provide for their needs in regular and Special Education. She provides comprehensive evaluations which help to plan the educational program for students.
